"Cherry Technologies" on your credit report or statement

It's the company that services the payment plan you accepted at a dental, med spa, surgery or vet practice — not a new account, not a collector. Here's where it shows up, how to confirm it's yours, and what to do if it isn't.

Where you'll see it

Three places the name appears

You applied under your practice's name, but the money moves through the servicer — so the servicer's legal name is what gets printed.

Is it yours?

Three checks that take two minutes

1Match the amount. The tradeline's original amount should equal the treatment you financed; a card charge should equal your down payment or monthly payment.
2Match the date. Account opened within a month of your treatment date; monthly charges on your due date (changeable in the portal).
3Log in and look. Sign in with your mobile number — no password — and open Payment Plans. Every plan, balance and payment is listed. How to log in →

✓It's yours — what it means

  1. Nothing to do. The account reports monthly; on-time payments build installment history.
  2. Paying off early closes it as "Paid" with no fee — the positive history stays.
  3. If the balance looks wrong, compare it with the portal before calling; refunds from a practice reduce it a few days after they post.

!You don't recognise it

  1. Check with household members — a plan may have been opened for a dependent's or a pet's treatment.
  2. Contact Cherry's support to flag possible fraud; they can freeze the plan and investigate.
  3. File a dispute with each bureau showing the account and, if confirmed fraudulent, a report at identitytheft.gov.
  4. Keep documentation; a confirmed fraudulent tradeline is removed from your report.

FAQ

Common questions

What is Cherry Technologies on my credit report?
Cherry Technologies, Inc. is the company that services Cherry Payment Plans — the financing you may have accepted at a dental, med spa, surgery or veterinary practice. The tradeline appears under the servicer's name, not the practice's.
Why doesn't it show my dentist's name?
Credit bureaus list the creditor or servicer that reports the account. Your practice was paid up front by Cherry; you repay Cherry, so Cherry reports the account.
Is Cherry Technologies a collection agency?
No. It's the original servicer of your payment plan. A charged-off plan may later be placed with a collections agency, which would appear separately.
I see a charge from Cherry Technologies on my card. What is it?
Either your down payment at checkout or a monthly payment on autopay. Log in with your mobile number to match the date and amount to your plan.
Will it hurt my credit score?
Applying never does (soft check). An active plan paid on time adds positive installment history. Late payments are reported at 30, 60 and 90 days past due and a 120-day unpaid account is charged off.
How do I remove it from my report?
You can't remove an accurate account. Once paid, it shows as closed/paid and continues to help your history. If the account isn't yours, dispute it with the bureau and report it to Cherry's support.
